An important part of our mission is to create a greater awareness and understanding of Mild to Moderate Traumatic Brain Injury. The following books are published by the Brain Injury Hope Foundation
that give a clear understanding of the symptoms, treatment options and
inspires hope for those recovering and for their family members.
Understanding Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI): This personal how-to guide is written for anyone who has sustained a head injury, concussion or MTBI. It clearly describes common symptoms as they show up in everyday life and how PTSD and MTBI often overlap. There are helpful tips for family, friends and loved ones, “brain-saving” decisions to prevent sports-related concussions, and a list of medical professionals who treat this “invisible” injury. Since MTBI is often unidentified and misunderstood, this book is an essential reference for general practitioners, teachers, athletic coaches and employers to expand their knowledge of the physical and behavioral symptoms.
Recovering from Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI): A Handbook of Hope for Our Military Warriors and Their Families. This handbook speaks to the military service men and women who are the survivors of the Iraq and Afghanistan war with Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (MTBI). Since MTBI is often unidentified and misunderstood, this clearly written handbook provides an insightful guide to recognizing and understanding the symptoms, treatment options and redefines “Recovery” as their new assignment. There are helpful tips for family, friends, and loved ones and a list of medical professionals who treat this “invisible injury.” Most importantly, the authors inspire hope that they will get better, they will learn strategies to compensate, and discover their own resiliency and resourcefulness. This book is also a valuable resource for all medical professionals to update them on the latest research and treatment options.
Mild Traumatic Brain Injury: A Survivor's Handbook: This
40 page book was written by a small group of survivors of MTBI who felt
the need to write a handbook that would be helpful for those injured
and their families members to understand what was happening to them.
One can identify with the common symptoms and feel assured that someone
recognizes and understands them. Suggested treatments and therapy is
offered but most of all you will feel inspired by the hope for recovery
that is in these pages.
